Lee Hoffman (1942-2014) was born July 13 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Privately tutored in art history, music appreciation, literature, history and religion until the age of 13, while also attending academic and art schools. Visited weekly with tutors at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archeology, the Philadelphia Art Museum, The Lessing Rosenwald Collection, and other private and public collections in New York, Boston, Baltimore, Wilmington, Washington D.C., Pittsburgh and, beginning in 1958, The Barnes Foundation in Merion, Pennsylvania.
