About the artist:

Lino Tardia was born in Trapani in 1938. After obtaining his artistic maturity, he refused the post of lecturer in Pictorial Disciplines at the Art School of Palermo and moved to Rome where he began his career as an artist. There he attended the studies of Renato Guttuso and Saro Mirabella. Since 1955 Lino Tardia began exhibiting, getting soon acclaim in Italy and abroad. The sixties mark his transition from Realism to the Informal and again to New figuration, after the manner of Francis Bacon, who met during a stay in London. Take part in group exhibitions together with Guttuso, De Chirico, Sironi, Treccani and other well-known authors in the international art scene. He exhibited his works in solo exhibitions in London, New York, Chicago, Paris, Houston, Ottawa and Tripoli. E 'was Professor of Painting at RUFA (Rome University of Fine Arts). He has participated in numerous national and international awards. In 2009 there was a large staff in the halls of the apartment Barbo of Palazzo Venezia in Rome. Lino Tardia lives and works in Rome.
