Martin Barooshian (b. 1929) was an American master painter and printmaker. Over his 70-year career, Barooshian worked in a broad array of media and transitioned through many styles. His paintings and prints dance among many artistic movements--seamlessly combining Symbolist, Expressionist, Dadaist, Romantic, primitive, and Renaissance elements. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
