about Pencil Box

Set against a black-and-white checkered background, the wooden pencil box features a scene of four people wearing 18th or 19th-century clothing around a painting of a landscape.

Mary Faulconer's typical attention to detail is evident in this print, where she has rendered not only the cover in detail but also the interior sketch held within the box is also realistic and dimensional.

About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
