about Leda and the Swan (Brown)

Reuben Nakian's sculptural depiction of the Ancient Greek myth of Leda and the swan is a fine example of the artist's impressive Abstract Expressionist style.

Rendered with minimal details, the rough-hewn patches of the sculpture contrast deeply with the smooth legs of Leda, exhibiting the classic emotive and expressive quality found in the Modernist movement.
