about Red Rat

Discover the provocative imagery of Robert Beauchamp’s Red Rat, a striking Surrealist lithograph by this renowned American artist known for his Psychedelic Art vision and bold Nude Art compositions.

This compelling print exemplifies Beauchamp’s contribution to the Surrealism, Psychedelic Art, and Nude Art movements, featuring a rat rendered in vivid red alongside nude figures in a dreamlike narrative that explores themes of instinct, desire, and primal nature. The artist’s masterful lithographic technique creates intense colors and expressive forms that merge animal and human elements into powerful surreal statements with psychological complexity. A provocative example of American Surrealist printmaking from the psychedelic era that brings bold imagery, symbolic depth, and artistic sophistication to any collection seeking challenging contemporary art.

About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
