About The Artist: Seymour Rosenthal

Seymour Rosenthal was born in the Bronx in 1921. He started drawing with crayons and pencils at the tender age of five and hasn't stopped at the age of 81. Rosenthal grew up during the Depression of the thirties and the rise of Fascism, He became aware of the injustices economically, politically and socially in his society and documented them by painting scenes of his childhood and growing up in the early 1900's. About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
