about Dances of Guanajuato

Leg outstretched beside her, the dancer in this Vic Herman print performs in front of an audience in the Mexican state of Guanajuato.

With a thick belt cinching the waist of her tea-length costume, the dancer waves a scarf held over her shoulders through the air as the ends fly up and the fringe bounces with movement. As her head turns to her right, the dancer's elaborate hairstyle decorated with baubles and decorations is visible to the viewer.

About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
