About the artist:
Antonio Ramírez. Ceramic artist, sculptor and Mexican painter of vigorous style and multiple compositions. His well-earned reputation as a teacher of several generations of artists justifies his pictorial production and place him in the important place of national and international art. Born in Mexico City in 1926. He made his first studies of drawing and painting in the Center of plastic initiation No. 4 of the INBA, later he entered the National School of Plastic Arts of the UNAM, Old Academy of San Carlos, among his teachers stand out Benjamín Coria, Carlos Alvarado Lang and Antonio Rodríguez Luna. He practiced as a teacher at the Popular Art Center No. 4 of the INBA, design, painting, drawing and ceramics in different institutions. I hold the position of director of the National School of Plastic Arts of the UNAM and teacher while teaching at the National School of Painting and Sculpture "La Esmeralda" of the INBA. He received distinctions and medals for his teaching work, granted by UNAM and INBA. July 8, 2010 Mexican painter Antonio Ramírez died from complications during an operation.
