About the artist:
Kojin Toneyama was an artist born in Ibaraki prefecture in 1921 whose works contain many Mexican stylistics. He was fascinated by performance folk arts in Michinoku (now a part of the Tohoku area). After his death, the atelier was changed into a memorial art museum and today there are mainly works of performance folk art motifs on display.
