About the artist:

Mori Shizume was born in Tokyo in 1928, where he studied economics. He left Japan for the U.S. after WW II, and studied physics and sculpture in California. During a career spanning four decades, Mori Shizume has drawn many of the world's greatest cities - from Rome and Paris. His artwork has been featured in one-man exhibitions in New York, London, Paris, and Tokyo. Commissions include those by the United Nations, Smithsonian Institution, and New Yorker magazine.
